Indian Army Opens Recruitment For 194 Group C Posts: Eligibility, Age Limit, Salary & Application Details

The Indian Army has announced an official recruitment drive for 194 Group C positions under the Directorate General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME). Eligible candidates are invited to apply through offline mode, with the deadline for submission set for October 24, 2025.

Overview of the Recruitment Drive

This large-scale recruitment aims to fill multiple technical and non-technical roles within the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. Positions include Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Fireman, Vehicle Mechanic, Fitter, Welder, Tradesman Mate, Cook, Electrician, and several others critical to the Army’s operational support network.

Vacancy Details

A total of 194 vacancies are open across the following trades and designations:

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

• Fireman

• Vehicle Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II)

• Fitter

• Welder

• Tradesman Mate

• Washerman

• Storekeeper

• Machinist

• Tin and Copper Smith

• Engineer Device Mechanic

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years as of the closing date of application.

• Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years

  • OBC: 3 years

  • Other categories: As per Government of India norms.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary between ₹5,200 and ₹20,200, as per the 7th Pay Commission, along with post-specific grade pay and allowances.

Selection Process

The recruitment process will consist of:

1. Written Examination — assessing subject knowledge, aptitude, and general awareness.

2. Skill Test/Trade Test — applicable for technical and trade-specific roles to evaluate practical proficiency.

Candidates who qualify in both stages will be considered for final appointment after document verification.
