Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the governor of Anambra State’s wife, has commended the state for its outstanding showing at the 2025 President and Schools Excellence Competition in Abuja, where Anambra took home nine prizes.
Woliwo Primary School II, Onitsha, took home the title of Overall Best School in Nigeria. Pinkberry International School, Odume, Obosi, was named the first runner-up for Best Approved Private School. Emmanuel Ndibe of St. Theresa’s Secondary School, Enugwu Ukwu, took first runner-up for Approved Private Senior Secondary School. Nkechi Ikedi of Pinkberry International Primary School, Odume, Obosi, was named the first runner-up for Best Approved Private Primary School Teacher.
Cosmas Nwata of Igbariam Farm Settlement Primary School was the first runner-up for Best Public Primary School Teacher; Amaka Ubaka of Prince Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha, was the first runner-up for Best Public Senior Secondary School Administrator; Ngozi Okafor of Community High School, Nkwelle Ezunaka, was the first runner-up for Best Public Junior Secondary School Administrator; and Nnenna Edozieobi of Model Primary School, Akabor, Ojoto, was the first runner-up for Best Public Primary School Administrator.
“I’m really thrilled to hear that Anambra State won a historic nine awards at the 2025 President and Schools Excellence Award held in Abuja,” Mrs. Soludo remarked, describing the honors as “another phenomenal feat.” The results of our investments in the education sector in Anambra are reflected in these accolades. The sector received the greatest allocation in terms of sectoral breakdown in the 2025 budget, which allocated more than 10% of spending to the sector alone. Thanks to a clear vision and well-defined goals, the benefits are becoming apparent.
She underlined that the foundation of Anambra’s master plan for human capital development is still education, pointing out that the “Dubai-Taiwan vision” of Governor Chukwuma Soludo starts in the classroom.
Mrs. Soludo urged all of the educators and schools that made the state proud to continue aiming for greatness and complimented them on their accomplishments.
She remarked, “May your flame of glory carry you farther than it has already.”
