Truck Carrying LPG Cylinders Catches Fire After Collision On Jaipur-Ajmer Highway
Multiple explosions rock the area as fire spreads to nearby vehicles

JAIPUR — A devastating fire erupted late Tuesday night after a truck carrying LPG cylinders collided with another vehicle on the Jaipur–Ajmer Highway, police officials confirmed.
The collision triggered a chain of massive explosions as the gas cylinders burst, spreading flames across nearby vehicles. Eyewitnesses reported that the blasts and fireballs were visible and audible from several kilometres away, sending panic through nearby villages.
Police units and multiple fire brigade teams rushed to the site near the Dudu area, as traffic on the highway was immediately suspended to prevent further danger.
Acting on the orders of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa reached the scene to oversee the emergency response and evaluate the extent of the damage.
Mr. Bairwa told reporters that the drivers and cleaners of both trucks remain missing, and rescue operations are underway to trace them.
“There is no confirmed report of casualties yet, but our teams are working round the clock,” he stated.
Senior police officers and district administration officials are coordinating the ongoing fire control and rescue efforts.
Meanwhile, the SMS Hospital administration in Jaipur has been placed on high alert, with emergency units prepared to handle any critical cases.
This incident follows a similar tragedy in December last year, when an LPG tanker collided with a truck near Bhankrota on the same highway, causing a massive explosion that killed 19 people and turned a section of the highway into an inferno.
Authorities have urged commuters to avoid the affected route until the situation is fully under control.
